Biggest silence ever
Pretty sure our little site just had the biggest quiet time EVER. There’s good reason for that. But I’m too tired to even TRY to explain it right now. I’ve just spent four hours clearing out Malware. The mighty base64_encode malware bug. I seriously, seriously hate that stuff. On the plus side I’ve discovered BulletProof Security for WordPress. I’m hoping it... Read more
More CSS3 & author profiles
I’ve made a few changes to the site including: More CSS3, particularly transforms on some of the links (hover over the menu in a real browser and you’ll see what I mean) Added links to author pages Added headers to the author pages that include the bio information for each author Created a real Facebook integration for the site (you can like the site below) So all you authors, make... Redevelopment?
Wow what a busy few weeks! I’ve had fun in the dev world, unleashing jQuery craziness on an epic scale. Where? Well I’ve made a dress up dinosaur and redesigned a major pseudo-government site’s blog to refresh using Ajax (via jQuery). I’ve also upgraded a few bits and pieces on various sites to make them a little more interactive. So I got to thinking… What could I... Read more
Ajaxifying
Howdy! Just thought I’d let you all know that i’m trying an experiment with Ajax. Ajax?? Yup. Asynchronous Javascript and XML. Asynchronous Javascript and XML? Yup… that’s the fancy thing that Twitter and Facebook do to refresh the page without having to reload the whole thing. Cleverness and something that’s always been way beyond me. So take a look at my... Read more
Minor Upgrade
I’ve added a new plugin to the site. Ten points to the first person that finds the new feature (Louie, you’re not allowed to enter this one). I’ll give you a hint… it’s on the blog page... Read more
Welcome to TGM v4.0
I told Gem this morning on Facebook that it’d be weeks before I made this live, but I dug in and just did it (at the expense of any social interaction with my family today). So anyways, welcome to TGM v4.0! For anyone that’s interested I’ve jam packed this design with heaps of CSS3 stuff, so be kind to me and don’t view it in IE. There’s a bunch of new content... Democracy Rules… ish.
With the new upgrade I’m thinking about tweaking the site a wee bit. As always the rule of “I pay the bills here so I make the final decision” stands, but I’m open to suggestion. I’ve looked back over old posts in the last couple of weeks and discovered that a couple of years back we had FORTY posts in one month! Now we’re lucky to get 1. So I want to... Read more
TGM moves to WordPress 3.0
We’ve just upgraded to the latest version of WordPress. Expect upgraded goodness and features soon!!... Read more
Ditched Intense Debate
As cool as it was I’ve decided to ditch Intense Debate on TGM. It seems a bit odd that the people who are my site have to log in to a whole other system to keep track of their comments. Probably cool on a bigger/more connected site, but waste of space here. So now you only have to log in to THIS site to leave a comment. Happy blogging/commenting ... Read more
Go Home
One of the things that’s always bugged me about tgmv3 is not being able to go back to the homepage. So I’ve fixed that – just click on the logo (it’s a design standard anyways). Also: fixed italic text so it’s actually italicised added styling for blockquotes (see my last post for an example of this) Still more to do, but only so much you can cram into a lunch... Read more
