Bringing it

I am currently bringing it.

What?

Yes… that’s right. BRINGING it. If you have NO idea what I’m talking about you don’t watch enough infommercials. I’m talking P90X. It’s an Xtreme (yes… that’s what the X “stands for”). Basically it’s super hyped american gym junky stuff with home workouts that break you in two on a daily basis. AND I LOVE IT

I just got to day 3. Wifey and I have been doing them every evening since Sunday (she skipped today though due to dancing class – no that’s NOT pole dancing, Maz). Sunday night was Chest and Back. No major dramas beyond waaaaay too many variations on push ups and me suddenly realising Monday mid-morning that I did infact have triceps.

Day 2 brought Plyometrics. The presenter, Tony Horton leaps in by saying this is the most extreme workout of them all. It’s lots of full on cardio stuff including craploads of lunges – and having gone through it once, I agree with Tony! Afterwards I cooled down by surfing facebook for ten or fifteen, then had a nice cold shower. An hour later I was still sweating like a chocolate bar in a fat camp (apparently saying “sweating like a Victorian arsonist” is poor form).

This morning when someone asked how I was I told them my entire body was a strange mix between concrete and jelly. I could barely move all my extremely heavy feeling limbs, yet none of them felt like they could support me.

Tonight I burnt up the Shoulders & Arms by myself, but not sure I got as much out of it as I should. I’ll know more tomorrow I guess!! I’ll keep you posted on my journey to getting ripped ;)

    OW.

How is that I work out my shoulders and arms yesterday and my LEGS are killing me today??

You are just strange, that’s why!

I think the pure fact that I’m doing an as seen on tv workout series makes me completely bonkers rather than odd.

As a follow up we tried yoga last night. It’s like waaaaaaaaaaay harder than it sounds.

Are you sure it was Yoga and not the Karma Sutra?
I know how you get these sorts of thing confused….. ;-)

I love those infomercials! I got a different Beachbody set of videos a few years ago and really liked them … until I fell off the wagon.

I think you’re usually most sore 2 days after doing something, not just one. So you were probably sore from plyometrics. I liked your “concrete and jelly” image–I completely understand what you’re talking about!

I’m looking forward to hearing how it goes!

So how is it all going so far? Found any new muscles?? :)

How are you doing with the program? You must be close to 90 days by now?
I’m in the middle of ChaLEAN Extreme, and trying to get my hands on some of Tony Hortons other DVDs before I start P90X in a few months.

As with everything like this… I struggled to find time to do it. Between working, family, my business and Cadets, it’s been waaaay too full on.

    One day…
