Busy isn’t strong enough a word

So I’m going to say ZOMGBUSY.

One day soon I’m going to invent a life for myself that goes something along the lines of this:

  • Work 20 hours a week and get paid for 60 (no work would be BORING!)
  • Have no commitments outside of my immediate family
  • Christmas time is either completely banned or occurs once a month so it’s not such a massive drama.

This week fortnight has been chaos on wheels.  Started with the City of Napier Cadet Corps prizegiving parade last Wednesday and hasn’t really stopped.  Since then I’ve managed to squeeze in

  • Parading Thursday with our cadets
  • transferring hosting for stmichaels.co.nz (my folks’ orchard) including:
    • Switching their hosting to Gmail
    • Installing wordpress with a free theme for them
    • Installing Google Desktop Apps
    • Setting up the family birthday/anniversary calendar and sharing with everyone who has Gmail.
  • Watching the 2 hour pilot of V thanks to my folks MySky
  • Collating (85%) the 13 Squadron end of year magazine
  • Attending the 11 Squadron end of year prize-giving
  • Attending the opening night of the Waipawa Musical and Dramatic Society’s Christmas Show
  • Cooking for the whanau on a daily basis

And this week I have planned:

  • Family BBQ for Kirsty’s work (I’m not a parent there any more but I’ve JUST been invited to cook the sausies on the BBQ) tonight
  • Final parade for Cadets tomorrow night
  • My work Christmas shinding Friday
  • ATC Officers & Committee BBQ Saturday night

I’m soooooo looking forward to about the 27th of December – about the time we head out to the beach and do NOTHING for a couple of weeks.

I so know how you feel – I'm ready for a really boring lowkey Christmas Day with Wayne and his mum when I'm hoping not to have to get out of my PJs AT ALL! It is sure to be less stress than this past week has been and this coming week is looking to be!
