Dipped in salsa
Oh joy of joy the day I have been oh so patiently waiting for finally arrived, yes thats right, dipping day at salsa. I have been simply longing and waiting as patiently as could be to learn how to be dipped in salsa, and now I know. It’s great!!! It’s so easy and fun, theres buggery all to it really, my partner simply pulls me closer, turns my hip ever so slightly (I so can do subtle) stretches my arm up against his chest and shoulder, and back I go for a dip. Easy peasy, and nobody dropped me which added to the this is fun part. I love it.
Now usually I wear stilletos to dance, be it a strappy sandal or a pair of boots, whatever. And as you can no doubt imagine , given that dance now takes up a good two and a half hours, my feet near kill me every time. So this week I thought I would go for comfort and wear my soft as snug and warm and comfy running shoes…big mistake. Salsa is not done with flat feet, the steps are near impossible to do in flat shoes. My feet didn’t get sore, a big up, but holy crap my legs and hips and butt were in absolute agony. So the time has come for me to go in search for some pretty yet comfortably soft and flexible dance shoes.
Next Wednesday is our monthly salsa night at the pub, the one and only time I have been along I bolted on out of there first chance I got..this time I will do my best to stay put for a while longer. Our group has grown bigger so hopefully if more of our own crowd actually front up it will be more enjoyable.
Labour weekend (October..?) there will be a Bay Salsa dance festival in Tauranga with workshops for children and adults, tickets will be aprox $100.00 for the duration (I think it’s 3-4 days but don’t quote me on that..) Sounds like a lot of fun to be had by all age groups.
Emerse yourself in salsa. Get dipped.

Hmmm, dipped in salsa……I’ve tried chocolate and whipped cream, but that is a whole other dimension…..
