How to get nothing done around the house!

Well after recovering from the wedding of the year I got home to what I had hoped was going to be a bit of quiet time and a chance to knock a couple of items off the ‘To Do’ list..

Yeah Right!

Eldest daughter came down with chicken pox, not just the normal run of the mill variety, oh no, but the industrial strength version that had the doctor commenting “I’ve never seen them THAT bad before”.

So a couple of weeks have gone by and Friday was going to be her return to school. So here I am getting her ready to go to school and to take her younger sister to kindy when the younger one pipes up that she isn’t feeling well and she has some spots……

So yet another weekend of under the weather rug rats has arrived……

I must have REALLY pissed someone off big time!

My eldest had a very bad case of chicken pox when she was 6, and had to be kept in an isolation tent for 2 weeks. And when she was starting to get better after 5 weeks of hell and bubble wrap skin, the baby got spotty. The doctor told me that if affects older children more than the younger ones, which was the case with my kids. The baby had barely 20 spots all up while the eldest still has pox scars all over her body from near 6 years ago. Good luck to you. And I recommend calamine lotion and pinetarsal solution.

Yes they say its best to get the pox at a younger age as it get worse with age (just like the mumps).

Ive heard of parents sending there young-uns to the homes of those infected with chicken pox so that they will get it.

A friend of mine did that to her kids, they got the chicken pox and very nicely passed it on to my kids. I would have been happier to dodge it completely but as you say its better to have it at a younger age. It can make a man sterile, measles can too.
