Keepcup

I’m saving the planet, one cup of coffee at a time.

Thanks to the wonderful folks who put together the WordCamp WordPress conference I went to recently, all presenters were given Keepcups.  ”Keepcups?”, I hear you ask.  Click the link, lazybones.

Basically a bunch of on-to-it buggers have come up with a re-usable coffee cup that isn’t one of those randomly huge travel cups… it’s a re-usable coffee cup, the same size and shape as a standard barista cup.  I LOVE mine.  With a passion.  The guys at my local seem to really like it too.  Sadly, they don’t sell them…. YET!  But at least one other coffee house is.

Weirdly, I’m pretty sure the coffee really does taste better in it.  I’m not sure if that’s coz it’s not being served up in cardboard, or because I know I’m not killing more trees…

And to answer your question, I think the standard size ones usually retail for about $16 and most places will give you your first coffee free.  If you’re a coffee lover, I ENCOURAGE you to go out and get one.  If you’re a barista, and you’ve never heard of these… you HAVE to start stocking them.  Imagine the reduction in waste and overhead.  Love it? You bet!

I totally lifted this from the Keepcup site:

Keepcups… Many small acts will make a phenomenal difference.
