Let us give thanks

Thank god it’s Friday.

Thank god I’m going away for the weekend.

And most of all, thank god I work in an office with a ready supply of alcohol, because I couldn’t have got through this day without the shot of vodka I slipped into my gingerale at lunch time.

Yes, Fridays are supposed to be relaxing days. Work is supposed to be slow, people winding down for the weekend. Everyone should be in a good mood, knowing they have two days off to look forward to. The sun is actually shining outside (a rather rare occurrence in London at the moment – or any moment if we are honest!) and the weekend looks to be dry and somewhat warm.

But my Friday didn’t follow this plan. Nope, it decided to act like a Monday. And not just any Monday, a really stinking nasty Monday, the kind that jumps out from behind a corner and kicks you in the butt. Ultimately, the kind that requires alcohol, lots and lots of alcohol!

But I dealt a few paralysing blows to my Friday morning (hopefully enough to keep things quiet until next week!) and now I’m running away to go camping and watch the final weekend of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch. And I’m taking a magnum of champagne with me to celebrate Vauxhall and Fabrizio Giovanardi winning for the second year in a row!

Catch you next week :)

It was great! Made it there about 8pm Friday night and set up the tent. Got to use our new Kathmandu sleeping bags for the first time and they ROCK!! The weather was fantastic all weekend and Wayne and I came home on Sunday afternoon with a lovely bit of colour on arms and faces :) A perfect weekend really!
