Monster free

My silly little blue blocks of mouse bait did not work, no siree. The mouse was eating it alright, the evidence was in the hot water cupboard in the form of blue crumbs. But the mouse did not keel over and die, in fact it continued to taunt me by running past me while I was gabbing on the phone. That call was short lived I can tell you, the hunt was on.

I planned out my attack as I was searching the kitchen for all possible useful mouse catching objects. Big knife, no. Big round bowl, no. Square shaped container, ah yes. Tongs, yes.

I shut all doors which could lead to numerous hiding places, opened the exterior door, blocked off the entrance to the ritz (hot water cupboard) and began my mouse hunt. Unfortunately trying to flush out small monsters requires moving large objects such as the tele, big potted plants, and tables.

I found my unwanted house guest wedged behind a puzzle board, desperately trying to escape. I briefly considered squashing it behind the board for a second or two, until my girly conscience intervened and prevented any squashings from taking place. So I plucked the little bugger up with my tongs and threw it outside into the bushes. Something for the neighbours cat to play with.

My house is once again monster free, victory.
