Oh please just take her
My poppit the 11 year old has gone away for 2 nights on her very first school camp. So in true poppit style she began packing for the trip the night before, because like you know she just can. I tried to give her some space to do it all her own, but it was hard yo ignore the screeches and expletives coming from her room. I stupidly intervened to see if I could be of any assistance only to be met with a seething not yet teenager fuming at me because her rather large pile of just 2 changes of clothes could not fit into her miniature (but its really quite big) school bag which was ofcourse totally my fault having been the person who bought th bag for her in the first place.
I quickly weighed up my options. tell madam that she cannot go to camp now because of her witchlike behaviour and have a miserable hell hath no fury child making my life hell for the next few days? Or find her a bigger bag and make her things fit into in and get her onto that damn bus for the sake of having a very quiet and peaceful few days without her?
You guessed it, in the morning poppit was beaming from ear to ear, a sight not often seen round these parts of the woods. She was teetering backwards with the weight of her largely overstuffed bag on her back, had another bag strapped onto her front, and was holding onto her sleeping bag. This was the one day in all of her schooling history that she was not going to be late for school. We kissed her and cuddled her and told her to have fun and said that we would miss her terribly, and held the door open for her to leave. Off she went with an almost bounce in her step and enough clothing to dress Africa. Oh what a quiet house it has been!
She returns from her wilderness experience tomorrow and no doubt will come with a load of washing for me to do. Oh goody, can’t wait to see if she wore it all!

Lol girls are silly!
Little Miss Energy has just done the same… she got the full on suitcase with the wheels on the bottom and all… CRAZY!
