Overcoming obstacles
How high must we jump in order to get ourselves over obstacles that get thrown onto our path? If the obstacles keep on coming do we keep on jumping? Our jumping keeps the obstacle throwers happy but what is it doing to us? How long can one person keep on jumping until they fall?
There are options to consider as always.
*Keep juming as high as need be to keep the obstacle thrower happy, and risk the consequences.
*Stop jumping. It’s not your role to make the obstacle thrower happy.
* Fight back. Throw some of it back at the thrower. Let them do some jumping too.
If we choose to keep on jumping, why are we doing it? Is it because we believe we owe it to that person, or is it because we think we need to punish ourselves for the past? Repent our sins, pay for our mistakes? The problem with jumping is that it can lead to self destruction. It holds us back from moving forwards, it holds us back in the past. It takes over our thoughts, it takes over our strength to move on. It hurts us and the people who love us, but we don’t notice it until we reach the point of breaking.
If we choose to stop jumping altogether it can go 2 ways. We can either refuse to walk in the path of the incoming obstacles, refuse to accept them, or we can play dodge. Try to avoid them but know that a big one will knock us down sooner or later.
Which leaves us with fighting back. This is the one that I would personally go with, I would stand up and fight back, give it all I’ve got. I will be damned if I’m going to be beaten down. I will be damned if I ever resort to jumping to keep another person happy at the risk of my own personal happiness and growth. I would throw some obstacles back to where they came from and let it be known that I will not be jumping.
Keep moving forwards.
