Tricksies over and done with
Frustrated? Angry? Want to punch Moon in the head? You probably will once you realise the nasty tricksies I referred to in one of my last posts was actually aimed specifically at you two, Laz and Slink!
Here’s a litte piece of code that exists purely for handling comments:
$blacklist = array('...','!','viagra','v1agra','cialis','c1alis'
,'http','[url','c1al1s','ttp://');
It exists purely for the purpose of blocking out important keywords that spammers had used to post messages about various wares they were selling. It also stops you from being able to post links into the comments (the first thing I did to try and stop spammers!). When you leave a comment, it checks to make sure none of these words are in there.
Imagine my surprise the other night when I went in and tried to post a comment about Hamish Carter, Accounting Systems Specialist. Took me AAAAAAAAGES and about seven comments posts before I saw the word cialis in there. After explaining it to Maz, we took a quick look a realised the two most common things said in comments posts by boys (me included) were ! and …
As you can clearly see, these are the first two things being checked in the string above. I’ve fixed it now, but damn that was funny.
