Tuesdays Monday Catchup
Should’ve been here adding an entry yesterday, but never quite got around to it… as Kirst would say: “Typical!”
Had a great weekend away at Camp Kaitawa with 13 Squadron. Well… Besides the Cadet who ended up mildly hypothermic, the other one who smacked another in the gob and a senior cadet who kinda lost the plot a little on the Saturday night (no names)! But that’s all part of the fun. Evidently, as our Training Officer is on leave all this term, I’m stepping in as Acting Training Officer so I get to do alot of the planning ofr our next camp in about 6 weeks time. I’ve had help from my old friend Sod Off Baldrick in the last 24 hours with some friendly advice on tactical planning and he’s pointed out to me that I’m already 8 weeks behind!! EEEEK! Oh well… at least I know what is left to do before we go. I’m also relishing the chance to sort out the training on a week-to-week basis at the unit level.
Kirst is back in action again (oh dear… I’m sorry about that one!) The physio discharged her on Friday and in my absence she coped just fine and was looking perfectly chipper on my return. Apparently I was doing my usual over-tired grumpy shit routine though, so I’m sure she was glad to see me go by yesterday morning!
Started my ACC ActiveSmart programme yesterday. 20 minute walk (in spite of actually doing it Friday AND walking some 4-5 hours total in the weekend) and starting their nutrition plan. MY GOD! That is soooooooo much food to get through on a daily basis. I can’t believe I actually managed to eat that much yesterday… although I didn’t feel bloated or anything because HAY! It’s all good food. Wikkid. The only thing I’m REALLY struggling with is the suggested 11-13 serves of bread & cereals. I can’t seem to manage more than 7. *shrug* Let’s see how this one goes! Next walk isn’t til tomorrow, but think I might go for a wander at lunchtime anyhoo.
