Upgraded to WordPress 2.9

Have upgraded TGM to WordPress 2.9 “Carmen” – some great new features including image editing onsite and easier embedding of videos from a number of major content providers (yes… even YouTube).

Another feature not mentioned on the official release blog post is the ability to assign thumbnails to posts.  Of course us WordPress Moguls have already figured out how to do such a thing, but having a visual in the dashboard is waaaay cooler.

Looks fricking awesome in my humble opinion!

As an integrated quickee… I started Lord of the Rings last night, so here’s the trailer for The Fellowship, added to this post with the power of WP 2.9 Carmen!!  Thanks Matt!!

    Yay for WordPress!

    Checked in here after not looking for a while, and realised you are on WordPress now.

    What other plugins are you using apart from intensedebate?

    Hi Dan!! Nice to see ya!

    Yeah in my new job we use WordPress for about 85% of the sites we build. I love it!

    As for plugins – a whole heap.
    * Google XML Sitemaps
    * All-in-one SEO Pack
    * WordPress Mobile Pack
    * ShareThis (obviously!)
    * Twitter Tools (http://www.twitter.com/geekmythologies)
    * Nextgen Gallery
    * Wordbook (auto post WordPress posts to the authors' Facebook)
    * PollDaddy polls (also from Automattic and I don't really use it much)

    Thanks :)

    I'm getting back into blogging, and podcasting too. Just built myself a podcast (and video) studio, now I just need to find people that want podcasts (as well as doing a few of my own)

    Wicked. I'm also a lazy geek, so sort our either Twitter tools or Feedburner and I'll be there with bells on! Lemme know if you need any help with the site config too… I'm something of a semi-pro ;)
