Democracy Rules… ish.
With the new upgrade I’m thinking about tweaking the site a wee bit. As always the rule of “I pay the bills here so I make the final decision” stands, but I’m open to suggestion.
I’ve looked back over old posts in the last couple of weeks and discovered that a couple of years back we had FORTY posts in one month! Now we’re lucky to get 1. So I want to know why that is? What’s taken the edge off the site? Are you guys just not that into it anymore? Has Facebook stolen our thunder? Are we all just THAT busy? Is the site missing something?

Thus far I’m thinking about the following:
- Tidying up the front page so we see snippets of posts, not whole posts and present them in an entertaining manner (think interactive sliders)
- Utilising the post thumbnails from WordPress 2.9+
- Tidying up the archives so it’s easy to skip back to older months (like the old site)
- Adding a bit more “non-post” content for me – coz it’s my site so :Þ
But I’m open to suggestion! So throw your ideas at me. Authors… what do you want the site to do? Readers, what do you want to see?

How many of us are subscribed to the RSS feeds? If more of us were then we would know when you post…your wife keeps you so busy that you seemt o struggle to post regularly now…
I will go and subscribe to RSS feeds now – start the revolution!!!

ahh i see…basically im being quieter to avoid public humiliation…failling that im not sure who else reads the site still so pretty well safe
Personally I’ve been so busy for the past 2-3 months that I have hardly had time to eat my lunch and when I get home the last thing I want to do is tackle my dying PC which takes approx 30 minutes to fully load up and then another 10 mins to open a browser page!
I have finally come to the end of our ridiculously busy period and will have much more time on my hands (even after eating lunch) so I promise to post more. There isn’t anything ‘wrong’ with the site, but I see what you mean about making some improvements to the site to keep things fresh and interesting.
As for Kirsty’s comment re the RSS feed, I have to admit that I turned it off because for a while there I was getting a lot of notifications and found it easier to just check once (or twice) a day for new posts. The site is at the end of my morning ritual of site/blog checking so that I can stay a while and comment or post but some days recently that ritual has had to take a backseat and I will admit that it is actually 17:42 and I’m still at work just so that I could leave a message before I left
