Down 1 and up 3

Just when I thought I was on a winning streak to have a weenie free weekend, those older girls pulled one over me, or so they think. No actually they did, I admit it. I am free of the 6 year old for the next 3 glorious nights, thats 1 down, 1 to go. And go the 10 year old will, to a sleepover tomorrow night. In the meantime I was 1 weenie down, and that lasted for less than a minute. As I was... Read more

No way out

It finally happened. I had to go to see my doctor this morning and as I was about to leave she hit me with it. I had unknowingly chosen the quietest time of the day to drop in, and time was not a factor for her. In fact she had plenty of time for me, the waiting room was completely empty. I knew what was coming because I had seen her going through my file. I was 6 years overdue for my smear... Read more

Monster free

My silly little blue blocks of mouse bait did not work, no siree. The mouse was eating it alright, the evidence was in the hot water cupboard in the form of blue crumbs. But the mouse did not keel over and die, in fact it continued to taunt me by running past me while I was gabbing on the phone. That call was short lived I can tell you, the hunt was on. I planned out my attack as I was... Read more

Overcoming obstacles

How high must we jump in order to get ourselves over obstacles that get thrown onto our path? If the obstacles keep on coming do we keep on jumping? Our jumping keeps the obstacle throwers happy but what is it doing to us? How long can one person keep on jumping until they fall? There are options to consider as always. *Keep juming as high as need be to keep the obstacle thrower happy, and... Read more

Mouse monster

My weekend just took a turn for the unexpexted, the weenies informed me through high pitched screeches that there is a mouse on the prowl in the house. You have got to be kidding me, thats disgusting. Maybe they’re playing a trick on me? So not entirely convinced of their story I played along, looking for the phantom mouse. OMFG they were not kidding me, there really is a mouse in the... Read more

The mummy schedule

Having read Mr.Ed’s journal on his daily schedule (now I feel like the laziest person on the planet) I thought it would be a good idea for comparrison to share exactly what I do during the week, not to point out why I am in desperate need to find busy but to show what I actually do while I am being a stay at home mum. 8:30ish Walk the weenies to school 9:00ish Domestic chores (thats... Yay for me

I’m very proud of myself today. We went mountain biking in the Redwoods this afternoon and I did really well! Sure, I walked two rather gnarly downhill sections and one uphill when my foot slipped off the pedal and I lost my momentum, but otherwise I was smooth and rather impressive, if I do say so myself. The thing with me is I’m a control freak, particularly when it comes to... Read more

One month update

I’ve checked back over my previous TGC entries to see what date I started at the Gym. My post from 21 January shows at my second ever visit to the Gym I was 112kg. I’m now pleased to announce I’m at 109kg. And probably just under at that. Which means I’ve lost 3kg in a month. Which double means that if I can keep that up until the wedding (just over 8 months away) I... Read more

How did I get here?

I’ve just read Jimi and Mandz’z's’z (how the hell do you pluralise a name ending in Z?) last posts. It’s led me to thinking about time. Generally speaking me and Mandz have a reasonably amount in common. A drive to get fit. Weenies. In particular 10 year old female weenies with attitude. Divorcees (i.e. previously married to people who are… well… fill... Read more
