WordCamp Update
Seems that there’s a few people asking for some more info after my presentation at WordCamp over the weekend, so here is some of the stuff from my FAQ!
pageRe-mash
I recommended pageMash to manage page ordering and menu layout. A fantastic plugin but if you’re gonna use it with WP2.9+ then you absolutely HAVE to have pageRe-mash. You can find it if you look up the original pageMash in the WordPress codex and then troll the relevant forums. However, for your pleasure I’m going to direct you to it: here
You’ll need to install the orignal pageMash then either FTP the new pagemash.php in the remash file or copy and paste the code into the original pagemash.php file in the Plugin editor. Thanks to Matt McInvale of BinaryM for an update to a brilliant plugin.
jQuery Cycle
Ok, so certainly not a WordPress plugin (though the thought of integrating it into WP by building a plugin has crossed my mind). jQuery Cycle by Mike Alsup has become core to a large number of our builds in the last 3 or 4 months. It’s the plugin I use on the TGM homepage which allows me to utilise screen real estate more efficiently.
If you have anything else that I mentioned that you’re not sure about, feel free to let me know here, or ask me over on Twitter.
On a complete aside it’s interesting to see so much information posted all over the interwebs about what when on in the business stream at WordCamp, but not so much about the tech side of things. I wonder why that is? I’ve theorised that it could be because of the type of people attracted to the business stream. The tech geeks maybe just don’t share well. Or is it more about the content? Is it harder to put tech concepts into words than the business info? Or is it simply because the content that us tech speakers put out there is really just so full on that if we shared it in text form it would completely blow your minds?

and all that meant absolutely nothing to me!
Hahaha sorry – plugin testing fail. Didn’t mean to have all that code in the first version!!
glad you like the updated version of pageMash
I LOVE the new version. Thanks for your hard work. I’ve only just gotten in to plugin development and I know it’s no easy task!
…and this relates to the tweetdeck how exactly…i think ill stick to sewage, its a lot simpler to understand…
