Morning Run

I had very honourable intentions to get up early both days this weekend and go to the gym for an early morning run.

Needless to say I slept through any time that could have been deemed as ‘early’ yesterday morning, and totally flagged the idea altogether. This morning however I was feeling decidedly guilty about the whole ‘give it a miss’ thing, and hauled myself out of bed and off to the gym I went.

I have never been to the gym in the early hours before, and never on a weekend either. I had assumed it would be crowded and busy on weekend mornings, but I was completely off the mark. It was busier than when I usually go, but everything I needed was available.

And I even managed to have a little bit of competition on the rowing machine with a nice but I don’t know him from a bar of soap man. He had a good strong pace so I decided to try and match him, but I soon learnt that he was doing 4 strokes to my 3. Talk about make me sweat it out, it was hard going but I kept it up for the 10 minutes, ever so grateful to finish.

Now I have come to the conclusion (upon a discussion with one of the gym trainers) that I needn’t bother with the bike anymore, apparantly I am better off going in twice a day for a 30 minute run instead.

Twice a day!!! Yikes.

But I will not be turning away good advice, no not me. So starting tomorrow I will be doing 2 runs per day, and if I have any energy left I will be doing a basic 20 minute pilates workout as well.

I am also on the lookout for a male gym buddy to run with, preferably around Brens height, to get an idea of his pace etc.

My height is 163cm, or 5’3.

And my weight is 70kg.

I do not have a target weight in mind, I will simply keep posting it as it changes.

Geesh you’re game posting that up. I think I might shed a few pounds before I get too carried away. And my pace? I’m pretty sure if you trained against a 300 year old oak tree you’d be about fast enough.

OH! You not gona share your numbers then?
(omfg, wish I knew that before I put mine up) I thought we were both going to elaborate on these things…no?

My point is, my body is changing at a very noticable rate, and I want to document it to show my progress, my ups and downs, and basically how I get on.

And your legs are way longer than mine, that worries me!
